Fashion
Lesson: Art and design
Class: Year 6 Year: 2024 - 2025
In our Art lessons, we explored the theme of art in fashion and developed our own creative ideas. We collected sketches and resources to help inspire and enhance our work. We studied the fashion patterns and styles created by various artists, including Piet Mondrian and Victor Vasarely, and used their artistic influences to create our own original paintings.
Piet Mondrian was a Dutch artist known for his bold, abstract designs using straight lines and blocks of primary colours. His style, called De Stijl, has influenced both art and fashion.
Victor Vasarely was a Hungarian-French artist famous for Op Art—a style that uses shapes and patterns to create optical illusions. His work inspired dynamic and eye-catching designs that have also influenced fashion.
It was exciting to see how art and fashion can come together in such creative and imaginative ways
